MY MOM

Little did I realize, until recently, my awareness of nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle was engrained in me as a toddler.

My mom, a bit ahead of her time, knowing refined sugars were bad, gave me frozen liver strips when I was teething as opposed to the traditional teething cookie. She also began adapting recipes to use honey, as opposed to refined sugar. She believed honey was ‘more natural’.

No meal was ever complete without a green vegetable. And yes, I was the kid at the lunch table with a peanut butter and lettuce sandwich. No worries about other kids stealing my lunch!

My mom was also militant about sunscreen.

For the past 2 decades, my passion for adventure, food and fitness have been fueled by the pursuit of nearly 2 dozen marathons, ultramarathons, triathlons, Ironman, CrossFit and building strength in winter mountaineering and backcountry ski descents. The key to success is understanding what my body needs to be strong, to sustain energy, recover and continue to perform.

I continue to seek opportunities to learn, build and qualify my strength in the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle, from how we move, to what we put on our bodies and perhaps most importantly what we fuel our bodies with.

My own goals have evolved, I’m now focused on passing my learnings on to others who share an interest in an increasingly healthy lifestyle.

Fueling your body for a healthier lifestyle doesn’t need to be overwhelming, it simply requires a trusted resource/coach, a defined process and our individual commitment to it; that’s what I do!

Most uniquely, I share my culinary experience to meet your individual needs without the burden, or boredom, often found with healthier food selection and preparation.

more about Katie

After graduating from college, I found myself in Manhattan for just over 11 years.

I loved everything about that time of my life. Especially covering almost every square mile of the city in running sneakers or on a bicycle.

Now, I live outside of Saratoga Springs, New York with my husband Bill and our flock of 11 chickens.

In addition to Nutrition Coaching and Beautycounter, I run an Outsourced Human Resource Services company with Bill. Not only am I fortunate to call Bill my best friend but he’s been the professional mentor I never had while working in big business, and I wouldn’t trade my experience working with him for anything.

I love a challenge, and believe I learn the most outside my comfort zone. More recently, I’ve found an appreciation for cold plunges and the challenge of traveling in the backcountry of the western United States on skis to find descents you would otherwise only see from far, far away.
