5 Benefits of Working with a Nutrition Coach

There’s no one-size fits all approach to improving health, wellness, and nutrition.

Here are 5 benefits of working 1-on-1 with a nutrition coach:

Personalization

We each have individual needs. What may work for one person may not work for the next.  A nutrition coach can provide a tailored nutrition plan built specifically with your goal(s) in mind.

Before building a personalized plan, clients will be asked to complete an intake questionnaire to provide details on body composition, goals, current fitness & training habits, nutrition preferences/restrictions, lifestyle, etc.

The more detail available to the coach, the more specific your plan may be, and often the shorter the time to initial results!

Support and Encouragement

Even the best-outlined plan may not always play out, thanks to unexpected life events. A nutrition coach will act as your support system to help navigate unforeseen future events and/or expected challenges you are presented with along the way.

We can be our own worst critics!

When the going gets tough, a nutrition coach can help you look objectively at what is and isn’t going as planned. Often helping clients realize that small actions are adding up, progressing toward their big goals.

With transparency and open communication, a nutrition coach will ask questions, provide empathy, and understanding, and offer suggestions to better navigate the inevitable challenges while working towards your goals.

There’s nothing like the support you receive from someone who is invested in you, and your journey.

Accountability

A goal without a plan is just a wish!

It’s one thing to want something for ourselves. It’s another thing to want it enough to establish a plan, work the plan over time and ultimately succeed.

Once a plan is outlined, a nutrition coach will hold you accountable for working the plan, check in to measure progress, provide the loving nudges needed when behaviors undermine the plan, and ultimately lead you toward success.

Education

When you begin to work with a nutrition coach, you will learn the benefits of certain food groups and macronutrients. This will become the foundation for learning how to fuel your body and the foods that will support achieving your goals.

With daily practice, you will learn to read food labels, navigate grocery stores and recognize healthy and balanced portion sizes.

As your awareness grows and new questions arise, your coach will introduce new knowledge that will support your journey and help you understand the ‘why’ behind the approach your coach is taking with you. We know we're far more likely to accept a change if we understand the reason behind it.

Habit Building

It’s been proven, time and time again, that taking the path of least resistance or the smallest amount of effort, does not achieve the best results.

A nutrition coach can help establish small behavioral changes that allow you to experience small wins that trigger feelings of pride, happiness, and the needed habits to achieve the overall goal.

Each new habit is then built upon, helping you work towards the next small steps, and eventually toward your overall goal.

If any of these 5 benefits resonate with you, or perhaps I’ve missed a benefit you’ve realized, please reach out to me to discuss.
